Beautiful throw constructed from hexagon motifs.
The design uses the inset mosaic crochet technique, which means that there is no fiddly colour changing within rounds. Colours are changed every 2 rounds, and the pattern is created by leaving ch-sps in the first colour, which are filled in by trs (US dcs) in a contrasting colour on the next RS round, leaving the ch-sps unworked behind.
Pattern is available in US terms, and includes a clear chart, full written instructions, and lots of helpful photos. Note: if you prefer UK terms, you may wish to purchase from my Ravelry or Etsy stores, as the patterns listed there include both UK and US terms.
Originally designed for a winter issue of Crochet Now magazine using white for C2, to give the effect of snowflakes, but if you change the colours around it is suitable for any time of year.
It would also make a great stash-busting project.

This spectacular hexagon motif blanket is easier than it looks. I used some yarn I was given to get used to the pattern and it came out pretty well. The pictures of every row helped to make sure I was getting the pattern correct. Each motif takes about a long evening to make and if you make a mistake there isn't a whole blanket to undo. As this was yarn donated to a charity it will be returned to them as a donation to use or to sell.
