Product Description
This cozy brioche stitch cowl creates the look of a turtleneck sweater without the bulk of the full garment and offers a bit more warmth than a plain tube. Simple brioche increases create a flare at the bottom that allows it to sit neatly on your shoulders. The long straight portion provides the option to wear it folded down to cover your neck or unfolded to cover your face as well. A tubular cast-on and bind-off give a refined look to the edges.
To knit this pattern, you need to know how to:
- work basic brioche stitch in the round,
- work simple brioche increases,
- do a provisional cast-on, and
- graft live stitches.
Instructions are given for the cast-on and bind-off. Most of the cowl can be knit comfortably on a 16” circular needle. As the stitch count rapidly increases for the flare, however, it may be necessary to transfer stitches to a 24” and/or 32” circular. Adjust circular needle length as needed for comfort.
