Product Description
A little easter bunny offering - though it almost looks like a dog....
This is dead easy, the head, body and (one!) leg are all done without any joining.
I forgot to write up the instructions for the eye patch but it's just a 6sc circle, increased as desired.
Fugly Bunny Amigurumi Crochet Toy
What Is Being Made
The Fugly Bunny is a small crocheted amigurumi toy designed by Sarah Lyons. This adorable stuffed bunny measures approximately 10 centimeters tall, though the final size may vary depending on the yarn weight and hook size used. The project is ideal for crafters looking to create a charming handmade gift or personal keepsake using basic crochet techniques.
Craft and Technique Overview
This is a crochet project classified as beginner-friendly, making it an excellent choice for those new to amigurumi construction. Amigurumi is the Japanese art of crocheting small, stuffed three-dimensional toys and figures. The Fugly Bunny pattern uses fundamental crochet methods suitable for learning the basics of shaping and assembling crocheted pieces into a finished toy.
Stitches and Construction Methods
The pattern employs essential crochet stitches and techniques:
- Single crochet (sc) — the primary stitch used throughout the construction
- Chain stitch (ch) — used for foundation and joining
- Slip stitch (sl st) — used to join rounds and finish sections
- Invisible decrease — a technique for seamlessly reducing stitches to shape the toy
- Increase (inc 2sc in same sc) — working two single crochets into the same stitch to add fullness and create rounded forms
The pattern is worked in continuous rounds, with stitch markers used to identify the beginning of each round for accurate counting and shaping.

To complete the Fugly Bunny, you will need:
