The pumpkin size depends on the yarn, knitting tension and filling density. Pumpkins may be knit in any yarn (weight, fiber etc), this information is just for example:
Gauge: 21st and 30r = 10 cm
Yarn: 30-95 meters (33-104 yards) of Aran-weight Yarn, e.g.: Drops Paris (100% Cotton, 75m/50g) For stem: ~ 2m of yarn in a different color.
Needles: № 3.25—3.75mm (US 3 – 5)
Approximate size of the resulting pumpkin and how much yarn is needed for it:
Small: d ~ 9cm (3½”), 20g – 30m/33yd
Medium: d ~ 12,5cm (5”), 38g – 57m/63yd
Large: d ~ 16cm (6¼”), 63 g – 95m/104yd
