Fractal

This chunky-weight raglan has a random geometrical pattern on the front that’s been set into a stocking stitch ground. I designed the pattern “free hand” following a simple rule of no more than 4 purl squares (4 sts x 5 rows each) for each horizontal or vertical line. The chart has been scaled up and down to be proportional in all the sizes. However, in the spirit of random play, feel free to work up your own variation of stacked checks on your sweater.

• SIZE & SKILL LEVEL Finished chest circumference - 25¼ (27½, 29¾, 32, 34¼) in / 64 (70, 75.5, 81.5, 87) cm. To fit sizes 4 (6-8, 10, 12, 14). Shown in size 10. Intermediate difficulty - Knit, purl, decreases, picking up stitches, working in the round, short rows.
