Flutterby - Pixie Hat

This is a newborn size pixie hat with a border of the softest Angora yarn. You only need a very small amount. I knitted four little butterflies in a little bit of left over sock yarn  and made a knitted pom-pom in the same yarn. By starting the butterflies in same colour in the variegated yarn each time your butterflies will come out looking remarkably similar. Pale pink ribbons finish off the hat. If you are concerned about wool being an allergy issue you can leave off the angora and knot the hat in cotton or even an organic cotton. Cotton does tend to come out a little bigger and does stretch. You may need to adjust your needles and always wash cotton in hot water to return it to its original size. cold water will see it stretch even more.
