Flattened Shell Hat

A simple shell pattern combines with a self-patterning yarn to make an easy striped hat.

Skills Used Basic crochet stitches: chain, double crochet, single crochet, slip stitch Crocheting in the round Skipping stitches, crocheting in chain spaces, crocheting in the back loop only Increasing and decreasing with sc2tog (with written instructions in U.S. terms)

Materials Cascade 220 Superwash Wave yarn, or approximately 115 yd (185 yd, 265 yd, 335 yd)/105 m (169 m, 242 m, 306 m) in any light medium weight yarn.

US Size H-8/5 mm crochet hook, or size needed to obtain gauge.

Yarn needle.

Gauge Through Rnd 4 = 4.25” (11 cm) diameter in pattern. For best fit, always check your gauge.
