Fake Cable Hat

This slouchy hat features a wide cable that is worked without twisting the stitches. You only need knits, purls, yarn overs and decreases. The ribbed brim is worked extra-long to fold it doubled so your ears keep toasty warm. The pattern provides instructions for a fingering weight version in three sizes for teens, small and large adult and a sport weight version in teen and adult.

4ply fingering weight sock yarn, 100 g in solid or semi-solid color circular needle size 2,5mm (US 1.5) or as needed to get gauge (10 cm (4 inch) = 28 stitches and 40 rounds in stockinette stitch)

alternatively 100g sport weight yarn, solid or semi-solid circular needle size 3mm (US 2.5) or as needed to get gauge (10 cm (4 inch) = 24 stitches and 33 rounds in stockinette stitch)
