Dunnikier: women's socks with reinforced heels, soles and toes

A pretty sock for a pretty lady, a sister who just loves anything beautiful in the world; her favourite thing to do is take a little stroll around a garden in bloom. The leg features a pretty ‘wavy lacy’ pattern that should keep knitters interested; the heel, gusset, sole and toe are worked in partridge stitch to give these areas a little additional strength and reduce the need for darning. The different tensions are compensated for by a method unique to The Wee Duchess designs: extra ‘inset’ rows are added to the sole section; this is to avoid creating a ‘banana’ shaped sole and wrinkles round the ankles.
