Abbreviations used in pattern:

K – knit.

P – purl.

M1K – lift the yarn lying between the stitch just worked and the next stitch and place it on the left hand needle, then knit into the back of this loop.

M1P – with left needle tip, lift strand between needles, from back to front, purl lifted loop.

K2tog – knit two stitches together.

Ssk – slip 2 stitches as if to knit, then knit those 2 stitches together.

P2tog – purl two stitches together.

Ssp – slip 2 stitches as if to purl, then purl those 2 stitches together.
