The detailing on the front of the box is intarsia worked from a chart. It is only a very small amount and could easily be swiss darned on if you prefer. To keep the postbox upright, it's strengthened with a sheet of thin craft foam on the inside. But you could also use a plastic bottle. The dog is a sweetie and could be knitted in any colour. He has the letter in his mouth which could be a Christmas card or a Happy New Year card perhaps?
