Pattern Overview

The hat begins with casting on 136 stitches and joining to work in the round. After establishing the stitches, knitters work 6 rows of K2, P2 ribbing for approximately 1/2 inch (1.3 cm), creating a comfortable, stretchy cuff. Following 3 plain knit rows, stitch markers are placed every 17 stitches to delineate the eight pattern repeats. The diamond twist pattern then begins, with all even-numbered rows worked as plain knit stitches.
