Diamond Beach Beanie and Headband

Jökulsárlón is a popular glacial lagoon located in south eastern Iceland that is filled with meltwater and icebergs that break off from a nearby glacier. These icebergs either drift out to sea or end up on the shore, where they shimmer against the backdrop of the black sand – hence the name, “the Diamond Beach”. The beanie is named after this magical place. The brim is formed of overlapping triangles, reminiscent of icebergs floating in the lagoon, while the body of the hat uses colorwork to mimic ice speckling against the dark background. By the end of this project, it feels like you’ve done a bit of magic, crafting a beautiful landscape onto your crown.
