Crussatta Cardigan by YOU NEED I KNIT
What is Being Made
The Crussatta is a knitted cardigan designed by Paulina Ramirez and available from YOU NEED I KNIT. This intermediate-level cardigan project is suitable for knitters with some experience and offers sizing options ranging from XS to 5XL, making it an inclusive design for various body types. The cardigan features a button-front closure with 4 to 6 buttons depending on personal preference.
Knitting Techniques Used
The Crussatta cardigan employs fundamental knitting techniques appropriate for intermediate crafters. The garment is constructed by working back and forth, meaning rows are worked in one direction and then reversed, rather than working in continuous rounds for the body. The sleeves are worked using either double-pointed needles, 8-inch cables, or the magic loop method, allowing knitters to choose their preferred technique for working small circumferences in the round.
Stitches and Construction
While specific stitch abbreviations are referenced in the pattern glossary, the design utilizes standard knitting stitches. The pattern employs stitch markers to help track pattern repeats and shaping increases or decreases. Stitch numbers are clearly written in parentheses throughout the instructions to ensure accuracy during construction.

Sizing Information
The Crussatta cardigan is available in six size options with detailed measurements. Finished widths range from 16.5 inches for XS to 31 inches for 5XL. Minimum sleeve lengths vary from 16.5 inches in the smallest size to 22 inches in the largest sizes. The pattern notes that yardage requirements are based on the lengths specified in the sizing chart but may vary depending on the individual length chosen by the knitter, providing flexibility for customization.
Pattern Notes
The pattern is designed to accommodate various preferences and knitting styles. Knitters have the freedom to adjust the finished length of the cardigan, as the body is worked back and forth rather than in the round, making length modifications straightforward. The choice of needle method for sleeves allows crafters to select the technique with which they are most comfortable or experienced.
