Crochet Hat Pattern: Slouchy-Slouch Beanie Hat

I love THIS hat. The crochet technique used is quite stretchy, so the hat stays on snug despite its lovely loose and slouchy look. It also has a nice "flat-lying" rounded top, unlike the sometimes bulky and lumpy slouchy hat tops that we see.

This hat is worked in the round utilizing crochet chains and single crochet stitches. The crochet chains are then laddered up (like making chains from chains) to give the hat its crochet cable effect. This technique is a variation on Jacobs Ladder and it is not difficult. This hat's stretchy-ness also makes it one-size-fits-all -- suitable for most adult heads.
