Construction Method and Techniques

The slippers are worked seamlessly from the toe up using the toe-up construction method, which allows knitters to try on the slippers during the knitting process for a perfect fit. The heel is shaped using short row shaping, a technique that creates a curved, contoured heel without requiring seaming. This seamless approach eliminates finishing work and produces a smooth, comfortable garment with no irritating seams.

Cozy as Merino is designed for worsted weight yarn in 100% merino wool or merino-blend options. The pattern calls for approximately 218 yards per 100 grams of yarn. The sample shown uses MAD for Yarns Worsted in the colorway Menta, which is 100% combed merino wool. Merino wool is prized for its softness, breathability, and temperature-regulating properties, making it ideal for slippers that remain comfortable throughout extended wear.

Needles and Notions
