The finished piece measures 45cm by 45cm and is intended to fit a standard cushion pad of the same dimensions. The design features a gentle lace square motif that adds a sophisticated touch to home décor or outdoor spaces like picnics. The cushion can be used as a single decorative piece sewn onto a linen cushion pad, or multiple panels can be joined together to create a stunning throw blanket, offering versatility in how the finished project is displayed and used.

Techniques Used

This crochet cushion employs classic lace-making techniques to achieve its elegant appearance. The lace panel is constructed by working in rounds for the first several rounds, establishing the foundational circular structure of the motif. After the initial rounds are completed, the pattern transitions to working in rows to add the four corners of the square design. This combination of circular and linear construction methods creates the distinctive square lace panel. Once the crochet panel is complete, it is blocked to ensure proper shape and dimensions before being sewn onto the linen cushion cover, a finishing technique that professional crocheters use to achieve polished results.
