Product Description
This is a pattern for a knit shawl that features two lace (and cable-lace) stitches that come to us from Japan. The focal stitch is an intricate and unique cable lace stitch that makes quite a statement. The border stitches are also unique, but quite a bit easier to knit. Combined, they make a one of a kind shawl, quickly becoming an heirloom.
Skill Level: Intermediate+ (assuming a basic knowledge of cable-lace knitting).
The two stitches are both charted.
There are also instructions for an optional crocheted edging contained within the pattern.
The sample was expertly pattern tested by Deb Terrio, who can be contacted at: jstdt3t@gmail.com. The sample was knitted using Handmaiden's Casbah yarn in colorway Jade.
No crochet hooks are needed if you decide not to do the crocheted edging.
Any heavy weight fingering weight yarn or sport weight yarn that will yield a gauge of 5 sts/inch in cable lace focal stitch, will work for this pattern.
