Briar Cardigan, Bloomers and Hat

This pattern is a compilation of the separate Briar cardigan, bloomers and bonnet - these patterns are also available individually if you prefer. Please note the bloomers and bonnet are only in baby sizes, up t0 6-12m whilst the cardigan is from 0-3m up to 3-4yrs.

The cardigan is worked top down in one piece, so use of circular needles for the body and DPNs or magic loop method for the sleeves is recommended. The body is worked in double seed stitch and sleeves are in stocking stitch.

The bloomers are started separately, with the front and back crotch panel worked back and forth, then joined to work upwards in the round. There is only one seam for sewing, which is the gusset seam.

The hat is made in one piece, back and forth, with a series of inc. and dec. to keep the stitch count and create the “helmet” peaks. The hat sizing is generous, to ensure the hat gives a deep fit at the back of head, around neck and ears.
