Beautiful Birds Mosaic square - Hummingbird

This pattern is for a mosaic crochet square that can be used in other types of projects, such as blankets, pillows, satchel bags, table mats, etc.

You can do this pattern in 2 colors if desired but the instructions will include the color changes within the corresponding rows. To do this project like the image, you will need a background color (mine is light aqua), along with the main bird color, plus white & pink or red for the chest/neck area, dark grey or black for the mask, beak & foot. You will also need green & pink or red for the flower, although you could use the same green for the hummingbird if desired. The instructions list how & when to switch colors within those rows affected.

This is a great way to use up scraps! The total weight of this project is just under 4 oz, so you don’t need a large amount of yarn. Approx. 2 oz of background color, 1.25 main bird color, 1 oz green, & .5 or less of the other colors, all worsted weight #4 type yarn. (200-250 yds)
