Product Description
Arborea is a lace & mesh semicircular shawl describing the botanical cycle of bud, blossom, and fruit. Named for the beautiful book The Serviceberry by Robin Wall Kimmerer, and is occasionally offered free on Ravelry. In that spirit, I invite you to look for some way to contribute to your ecosystem - plant something that enriches your local area, choose empathy over outrage, pick up some rubbish, help an insect, smile to a stranger. It needn’t be grand - small actions can have more impact than you predict.
- The pattern is charts only, and these charts are dense and complex. This is a challenging pattern, and requires being able to read your knitting.
- The pattern is written for 3 wedges, making a deep crescent, or it can be worked with 2 wedges for half circle.
- Suits lace to fingering weight yarn.
Uses 800-900m (875-975y) of heavy lace/light fingering weight yarn.
The design is closely adapted from Herbert Niebling’s Kirchblüten.
