A lightweight beret with diamond lace pattern set against Stocking stitch ground. The beret is worked in the round from the brim up with diamonds continuing part way up into the crown shaping.
Difficulty Intermediate - knitting in the round, knit, purl, yarn over, simple decreases and increases, and finishing.
To Fit Head Circumference 18 (19 ¼, 20 ¾, 22, 23 ¼) in / 45.5 (49, 52.5, 56, 59) cm, shown in size 20 ¾ in / 52 cm.
Finished Brim Circumference 16 (17 ¼, 18 ¾, 20, 21 ¼) in / 40 ½ (44, 47 ½, 51, 54) cm.
Yarn 1 skein of Silk Blend Fino, Manos del Uruguay (30% silk, 70% wool, 50g / 246 yds / 225 m) #2440. Substitute with approximately 155 (165, 180, 190, 205) yds / 140 (150, 165, 175, 185) m of Sport weight or 4-ply yarn with the following knitting gauge.
Gauge 26 sts and 40 rnds = 4 in / 10 cm in Stocking stitch (used as a reference). 24 sts and 40 rnds = 4 in / 10 cm in Stitch pattern.
