Product Description

Even though the myth of the symbolism associated with traditional Aran stitches was thoroughly debunked by Ms. Starmore and others, I’ve chosen to play on that symbolism with this design. Anchor chain cables (symbolic of hope and tranquility), surrounded by horseshoe cables (symbolic of luck), and staggered rope cables (symbolic of fruitfulness), adorn the leg and instep of this design. As with most cabled garments, this combination of stitch patterns creates a sock with a lot of negative ease, so you may find it necessary to use larger needles or size up.
