Anchor Artiste Metallic

I like that this 'floss' has enough substance to be crocheted like a fingering weight yarn, but if using alone it does get a little crunchy (because of the metallic foil, so t be expected). Would be easier to use solo if it was a little less stiff foil and a little more plyable yarn, but honestly the effect is actual GOLD which most floss or threads cant do on their own without being doubled. Great carrying yarn as long as the base yarn isnt fuzzy (snagging). Definitely unique to my collection...

Paintbox Yarns Simply DK - lovely bright colours. Also ordered metallic yarn (gold and white gold) - used this doubled. Thought it might be ‘itchy’ to use, but not so - knitted really well.

I used this in place of my usual brand, that has been discontinued, and found it a satisfactory replacement! In fact I don’t know why I haven’t used it before, as it is more readily available!

For my latest project I’m using Paintbox cotton Aran inRacing Green ,Anchor Artiste Metallic Twilleys gold fingering - both in various colours as I’m crocheting Christmas trees with decorations using the two metallic yarns and they look great !!

I use this thread to crochet bracelets. It is easy to use and the color is pretty and sparkly. It is also thin enough to add some beads.

A lovely addition to a garment - really makes a difference to details of the finish.

Am currently knitting a Rowan pattern which requires Rowan Lurex Shimmer. As this is sadly discontinued Anchor Artiste Metallic is a fine substitute.

In this instance I had to knit using the thread doubled and it was fine. The finished article looked great - a buckle for a teddy’s Elf outfit.

Knits well and just what I needed to edge the stockings I am making for Christmas

I got this yarn as I’m making crochet Christmas trees and use it ti crochet little shiny medallions to fix on trees and although they are very fiddly to make the yarn is perfect for this I also crochet it with green to make the trees and the effect is great .
