Product Description
This knitted book may not be quite as easy as ABC… but it is a great way to try mosaic knitting and makes a beautiful keepsake.
The pattern was first published in Your Crochet and Knitting magazine, Issue 18, as Apple - Boat - Cat Baby Book. This is the updated version of the pattern with front and back covers added and written instructions provided.
Ten squares, A & Apple, B & Boat, C & Cat, D & Duck, Front & Back Cover, are knitted in mosaic garter stitch. The front cover is worked in intarsia and mosaic garter stitch, however, intarsia can be omitted. To create a book page, two squares are crocheted together using a double crochet stitch. The pages are sewn together to create the book.
Approximate amounts:
• One square MC and CC 7 g / 0.25 oz = 22 m / 24 yards of each colour
• Whole book + crocheted binding 150 g / 5.3 oz = 477 m / 522 yards in total
