Warm yourself with the Bricklayer Set from Valley Yarns. This easy colour work set is worked using slipped stitches and only one colour per row. Sideways garter stitch bands are a fun change from ribbing and add an extra layer of construction intrigue!

Hat: 19” at brim unstretched, stretches to fit a 22” head; 9” deep
Mitts: 7” hand circumference; 6” long
Yarn Requirements: Valley Yarns Berkshire (85% Wool/ 15% Alpaca; 100g/141yds)
Hat: 1 skein MC, shown in #16 Burgundy and 1 skein CC, shown in #17 Wine
Mitts: 1 skein MC, shown in #17 Wine and 1 skein CC, shown in #16 Burgundy
Note: Yarn colours are swapped between hat and mitts in sample; yarn requirements are the same if you choose to match your set.
Needles: US 8 (5.00 mm) 16” circular and DPNs
Gauge: 17 sts and 20 rows = 4” in Bricklayer pattern stitch
