One of my first and most popular designs. A classic earflap hat reminiscent of a basic chullo. With two lengths of earflaps to choose from and a back that is slightly longer than the front to cover the neck, this will become your go-to winter toque pattern for everyone in the family.
The hat is constructed in heavy aran-weight yarn by first making the cabled headband, then picking up stitches for the crown and knitting in the round, then the earflaps.

SKILLS YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE THIS PATTERN: Knit, purl, make a gauge swatch in Stockinette Stitch.
*The largest size head this will fit is 23.5 inches/59 cm in circumference. This will fit many, but not all, men.
