Product Details
Torlak offers a variety of options. It can be done as a scarf and worn over a jacket in colder seasons, it can also be done as a wrap or stole, either a lacy or warmer one.
The shawl is reversible, the pattern is done on the right side while the wrong side is purled and on some rows it is a combination of knit and purl stitches.
Size is adaptable in both width and length. On the one hand, the overall size depends on the yarn weight and needles, on the other hand you can add repeats to make the shawl longer or increase / decrease the number of cast on stitches to make it wider or narrower.
Yarn – lace to fingering for a lighter version, any heavier weight yarn for a warmer one. My shawls were knit in Mondial Gold Cashmere (50g = 193y/ 175m) on US 3 / 3.25mm needles and for each colour I used 3 skeins (579y/525m) to obtain a shawl that measures 12 x 62 inches / 30 x 156 cm blocked.
