The pattern was exactly what I wanted for a shrug for my granddaughter to wear to ballet class. The instructions were easy to follow, and the diagrams were helpful, since I needed to size the pattern up a bit (she’s 11). I also was able to knit the body in one piece: starting the pattern with the bottom, I cast on the stitches needed for the fronts and back, minus the ribbing in the back. I knitted it, dividing at the armholes, and joining the shoulders with a 3-needle bind-off. I used a circular needle to pick up and knit the ribbing all around the fronts and back. A crocheted frog keeps the shrug closed for dancing.
