Who doesn’t love owls? The Love of Owls Hat is a fun and cute beanie hat that you will enjoy making as part of your fall and winter projects!
The hat has 7 adorable cable stitch owls around it and there are links to You Tube video tutorials, that I created for the pattern, to help guide you in making the cable stitches for the owls.
This pattern is recommended for crocheters who are comfortable and familiar with post stitches and cable stitches however; the videos and some of the photos included within the pattern can greatly assist in completing the hat.
It is highly recommended that Red Heart Soft or Caron Simply Soft yarns be used for this project as these have been tested to work best with this pattern for sizing and ease of use with the E Hook.
You will require two crochet hooks for this project, an E (3.5mmm) and a G (4.00mm) Hook.

- If you add buttons for the owl’s eyes, use 1/4” buttons. For ease, sew buttons onto front 3 owls of the hat but, you can add from 2 - 14 total buttons
