Product Details

This beautiful Heirloom Lace Shawl can be as a baby blanket, a shawl, or with the cobweb weight yarn, a lovely fine scarf for yourself or a friend.

Lace weight /2 ply yarn makes approx. 110 x 115cm after blocking (1000 meters and 4mm needles).

Cobweb weight/1 ply yarn makes approx. 100 x 105cm after blocking (700 meters and 3.25mm needles)

Tension is not important with this project.

The lace patterns used in this shawl are relatively simple patterns.

The pattern includes charts, plus for knitters who prefer not to use charts or for those who have never attempted an heirloom lace shawl before, fully written out, clear, step by step instructions.

The shawl is constructed in 3 parts.

First the central square is worked back and forth on straight needles.

Next, a border is knitted around the central square, in the round, using circular needles.

Lastly the edging is worked at the perimeter of the border.
