Retell the story of the Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson, with these cute finger puppets.
Pattern contains instructions for the mouse, fox, owl, snake and the Gruffalo child. Details also included to make a larger 20cm Gruffalo.
Puppets are made using either straights or dpn’s, and DK yarn Larger Gruffalo is knitted mostly in the round, and uses an aran weight.
Puppets are an excellent way to create and sustain an interest in books. Children enjoy fun and interactive activities, and this is a perfect way to allow children to be more hands on during story time, stimulating their minds and imagination by bringing stories to life. It creates another dimension to the book and really allows children to make sense of what is going on in the story.

I chose this pattern because it includes a larger Gruffalo which is not a finger puppet. Seemed important to have one which is larger than the other finger puppets but there is a choice because a Gruffalo finger puppet pattern is also included. Fun to make.
