Product Details
This poncho is knit in one piece from the bottom front to bottom back with instructions for front tab and neck opening along the way. Stitches are later picked up at the neck opening for the hood. The top of the hood is finished with Kitchener stitch. Braided ties are added at the neckline edge and poncho sides are partially joined by tacking together several inches in from the side edge.
I used just under 1600 yards for this poncho as the pattern is written. Within this 1600 yards, the hood requires about 185 yards and the braided ties require 12 yards.
The size and yarn requirements for this poncho can easily be modified. The pattern includes instructions for how and where these modifications should be made.
