Product Details
The design is influenced by the fan vaulted cathedrals of the middle ages, prevalent in English architecture. Using the vaulted ceiling of Bath Abbey Cathedral as its main reference, this pattern seeks to mimic its multiple spring points and a simple filigree at its apex.
This shawl is designed to drape across the front of the body, elegantly splaying the ribs and lace edge. The shawl is flanked by i-cord edging. A tassel at the narrow end is fed through the i-cord loop affixing the shawl in place.
Starting at the narrow end, the garment increases in width at a gradual pace of 2 stitches every 6 rows. The pace of increases changes to 6 stitches every 6 rows, and eventually 10 stitches every 6 rows, creating a parabolically wider shape.
