Art Deco Purse

Tunisian crochet is a different method of crochet (similar to knitting) consisting of a "forward pass" (working right to left and picking up all the stitches in a row) and the "return pass" (working back, left to right, to remove the stitches from the hook).

This pattern is based on 'mitre squares' (in which 3 stitches are worked together in the middle of each row to form the diamond shape). The difficulty is Intermediate but full instructions (with colour photos) are given so beginners can also enjoy this project.

3. Work 3 stitches together
4. Decreasing

You will have up to 23 loops on the hook at one time, so a Tunisian crochet hook is recommended. However it is very much up to personal preference and if you do not have a Tunisian hook it is worth trying a standard hook.
