The gifters of love

Published on 30 January 2020 3 min read

As makers, we have this intrinsic desire to show our love through gifting the handmade. We pour our hearts and souls into every single make, with the simple intention of telling someone we love, just how much we care about them. There are so many reasons to make; galentines, valentines, weddings, birthdays, baby showers and holidays, but sometimes we want to do it ‘just because’. It doesn’t matter if your hat comes out a little misshapen, or if the stitches went a bit wonky, what matters is the joy in their faces when you gift it, the warm hug that follows and the promise to treasure it, always.

Whether it’s chic homeware for your best friend’s new home, cute cuddly toys for the little ones in your life, or makes to donate to a charity close to your heart - The handmade means so much more to us, and to them!

For the romantics

What better way to show your love to the romantic in your life, than with something handmade? A love letter written with yarn or stitched in thread, a sonnet poured into each strand and stitch - a personal declaration of your love for them created with your own hands.

Love is at the heart of LoveCrafts

At LoveCrafts we really do love crafts. We love our community of wonderful makers and we love sharing your stories, WIPs and finished masterpieces. We know that our crafts can be a real labour of love, that sometimes it just doesn't go to plan (and that's okay!), we understand the highs and lows of being a maker. But most importantly, we understand the full body joy of gifting something you've made with your own two hands to someone that you love. Patching up a treasured jumper because a friend can't bear to part with it and finding any excuse to raid your stash and share the love with those closest to you, and those in need too.

We understand why you make and it's because you love it, just as much as we do.

For the style savvy

We all have someone in our lives that is just effortlessly chic, a classic fashionista who just throws on ‘any old thing’ and looks incredible! What do you buy someone so style savvy? You don’t! You make them something unique and perfect for them. Anyone who invests in their wardrobe will appreciate a one of kind piece, handmade by someone they love.

For the little ones

The littlest members of our family need lots of love, and what better way to express that than with adorable outfits and cute toys handmade with love.

For the nature lovers

For the friend with green thumbs and muddy knees, whose house is a forest of house plants, with a garden full to bursting with greenery and colour. They probably don’t need any more plants, but maybe a few made with their love of flora and fauna kept in mind would make the perfect present for the gardener in your life.

For the art lovers

For the friend who can’t resist an art gallery, the one who’s  constantly covered in paint splatter (or tangled up in yarn!), or those that can’t resist a splash of colour or an interesting pattern in their wardrobe. Why keep art on the walls when you could be wearing it, or better yet, making it?
