DIY Party hat tutorial

Summer is here and after a year and a half of isolation it feels like the perfect time to celebrate with the ones we love!

Party hats are an easy way to add cute details to any kind of celebration and I love this colour combination. Use paper that's extra thick and sturdy, both important characteristics when making your own party hats. Let the celebrations begin!

How to make

1

Trace the party hat template onto the coloured cardstock. There are many party hat templates online - a quick Google search will show a bunch! Cut out the traced pattern out of the cardstock.

2

Place a line of hot glue on the side of the template with the tab. The glue should go on the tab and also down the length of that side. Curl the template so that it forms the shape of a party hat. Hold together until the glue dries.

3

Attach a pom pom to the top! It can match or be a contrasting color.

4

I made my own confetti with leftover cardstock - in 3 different variations, small circles, bigger circles, and tiny rectangles.

5

Add the confetti onto the base of the hat.

6

You can personalize the hats with whatever details you’d like! Birthday numbers, initials, the options are endless!
