I was taught to knit by my mother when I was just 4 years old. We used a pair of 6 inch DPNs. I have been knitting ever since. Even being semi-paralysed by an operation didn't stop me, though it did make a mess of my tension for a few years. As you need both hands to a greater extent for crochet than for knitting, I haven't done much crochet for a long time. However from 2015 my right hand was sufficiently controllable to allow me to properly crochet once again. Now there's no stopping me, except the constraints of time! I retired from work in 2019, but my knitting and crocheting is still often having to take a back seat!
