I had the idea for this pattern in my head for a very long time before I had the chance to make it. Once I'd started, it was a surprisingly quick knit, with just the right amount of easy stocking stitch combined with moss (US seed) stitch to keep things interesting. The charts for the cats all have the same stitch and row count, so to save time counting I used stitch markers to indicate where I had to switch from one chart to the other.
