Mum's blanket hug

I was browsing patterns for my sister's baby when I came across this beautiful blanket pattern. I knew my mum would love it so I decided to scale up the pattern so it was a full size blanket instead of baby sized. While making this I discovered that I could alternate knitting rows left and right handed so I never needed to purl. This amused my fiancé who says I looked like a printer as I never had to turn the work. It was also the origin of my new catchphrase "there is no purl!" Although the main yarn was sport weight I used DK I already had for the hearts so that I didn't have to buy a lot of new yarn in different colours. This seems to have worked well and there's no obvious negatives from mixing the weights.

Love this blanket and the tip for knitting 🤗
It's lovely.....and so is your dog! :)
Looks beautiful your mum will be lovely and warm under her new blanket. I like purling, but sounds good not having to keep turning on a big blanket, so might give that a go later.
