Wool Flake
Like a good little ant, I’m getting ready for winter, just as I’ve always done. But perhaps this winter won’t be as harsh as the ones we’ve experienced so far (global warming and all that...). As I’m always cold and don’t get much sleep, my little knitted creations will come in very handy. This jumper is the latest in the long series of pullovers I’ve been showing you since last January.
I think this one is particularly well done: the marriage of this warm, soothing shade with the technical sophistication of the cables really brings out its elegance. I’ve got a few projects in mind, including two or three sweaters to reknit: the wool has worn out quite quickly (felting, pilling). Well-known brands… which I’m going to give up on!

Lovely aran jumper, your yarn has great stitch definition. I remember using the oiled traditional aran yarn in the past years ago and remember that was very warm.

A while ago, I bought a digital version of a Phildar catalogue that is no longer in print. ”Le Pull Femme No. 397-T3-184” is taken from this pattern book No. 802, entitled ”Best Irlandais”, published in 2005.Not to be confused with the jumper featured on 31 May (Amber Helios)which is from the same magazine; they are different ! Ravelry mentions the out-of-print catalogue and states that the jumper I’ve just knitted is available on the Phildar website (now called Happywool): which is incorrect and probably a scam !
