What Is Being Made

The Zaggy Cowl is a versatile knitted cowl designed by Ambah O'Brien that features a geometric lace pattern. This project is available in two sizes: a smaller version (S) for a stylish, cozy fit, and a larger version (L) that can be worn loose or looped twice around the neck for different styling options. The cowl works beautifully with solid, semisolid, or gradient DK weight yarns, making it an excellent project for using up yarn leftovers.

Techniques Used

The Zaggy Cowl employs fundamental knitting techniques suitable for beginners. Materials

The pattern samples were knitted using Madelinetosh DK, a 100% merino yarn available in 250-yard (229-meter) skeins per 100 grams. Suggested colorways include Scarlet for the small size and Naussau Blue for the large size.

Needles: US 6 / 4mm circular needles are required to achieve the correct gauge. The pattern notes that the Zaggy Cowl features a different gauge from the coordinating Zaggy Cuffs, so checking gauge before beginning is essential to ensure proper fit and drape.
