What Is Being Made

Wrap Me Up is a modular sampler wrap designed by Chris de Longpré that celebrates color and texture through a creative patchwork construction. The modular design allows crafters to build a truly one-of-a-kind masterpiece by combining self-striping and solid yarns in a structured pattern.

The wrap employs a modular sampler approach, which means the piece is built from multiple distinct sections or modules that are worked separately and then joined together. • Main Color (MC): 1,000 yards of worsted weight self-striping yarn

The designer specifically recommends self-striping yarns that provide built-in color variation, including Kureyon or Silk Garden by Noro, Paint Box by Knit One Crochet Too, Woolly Stripes by Nashua Handknits, or Autunno by Cascade Di.Vé. These yarns are chosen for their ability to create dynamic color transitions without requiring frequent yarn changes. Note that the modern production of Silk Garden may require up to three additional balls beyond the computed yardage of 1,000 yards.

Optional embellishments include beads, which can be incorporated to add extra dimension and sparkle to the finished wrap.

Needles and Tools

This pattern requires a variety of needle types to accommodate the modular construction:

• Straight needles in U.S. size 8 (5.0mm)
• Two circular needles (at least 24 inches long) in U.S. size 8 (5.0mm)
• Two double-point needles in U.S. size 8 (5.0mm)
