This poem sprung to mind as I was working on this pattern. It seems at first glance that the stitches are meandering aimlessly, but the reality is they are going exactly where they need to in order to create this simple, but elegant, lace pattern. I hope you enjoy knitting it as much as I enjoyed watching it take shape.
This is a perfect first lace hat, with an easy to learn pattern that works up quickly. However, it still serves as a nice relaxing and rewarding knit for the more lace-experienced knitter.
The recommended yarn for this hat, Zen Yarn Garden's Serenity 20, is a really lovely yarn to work with. My first experience with it was while designing this hat, it seemed to mesh with the pattern perfectly. Very soft, and high quality.
This pattern has sizes for newborn through adult.
