Product Description
Dress your dolls for a beach day in these adorable sundresses! I designed these dresses to use up small amounts of yarn I had left over from knitting socks, and I love the way the stripes play out in single crochet. The minidresses are started by working the waistband sideways, then joining it as a tube and picking up stitches for the flared skirt and the bodice. The midi dresses are closer fitting and worked from the hem up. Both are pull-on and have a halter top and tie closure for easy dressing. Each dress comes in two sizes - Petite/Tall and Curvy. They’re designed to fit modern Barbie dolls and other fashion dolls with similar proportions.
You can use any kind of sock yarn for this project; I used Plymouth Yarn Sockotta because the cotton blend gives the dresses a summery feel. If you like, you can add an elastic cord to the waist of the finished dresses for a closer fit (I didn’t).
