Coppice is a fitted cardigan pattern designed by Fiona Ellis for Twist Collective. This garment features a tailored silhouette with waist shaping and is available in seven sizes ranging from 32 ½ inches to 50 ½ inches bust circumference. The cardigan is intended to be worn with 2 inches of ease and offers lengths from 24 to 28 ¼ inches, making it suitable for various body types and style preferences.

Construction and Techniques

Coppice is constructed using a bottom-up, worked-flat method, meaning the cardigan pieces are knitted individually from the lower edges upward and then seamed together to create the finished garment. This construction approach allows for precise shaping and easier customization of length during the knitting process.

The pattern incorporates several advanced knitting techniques to create visual interest and a sophisticated design:

• Cable stitches (including C6BP cable crossings) are featured throughout the design, adding texture and dimension to the fabric
• Lace stitch patterns are integrated into the design, created using yarn overs (yo) and decreases such as ssk (slip, slip, knit) and k2tog (knit two together)
