Living in Africa, one of my favorite scenes was a lone Acacia tree in the distance. It’s such an iconic African view – yet most people don’t realize these distinctive trees start off as a bush! It’s the giraffes’ constant stripping of the leaves that gives acacias their unique shape. Keep the view with you always by knitting these mittens, named for the Swahili word for giraffe.
