Tropical Macaw - mosaic crochet square

I've always loved tropical birds (all birds, really), and have fond childhood memories of family vacations to various amusement parks & zoos where we'd enjoy interacting with the friendly Blue Macaw parrots! I designed the tropical birds in this series (4 total - see my other listings) as a tribute to those memories.

This pattern uses the overlay mosaic method combined with some mid row color changes & is the same size as all my other squares which are approx. 13” when using medium weight yarn & a 5mm hook - perfect for joining together into a larger project, or use individually for tote bags, pillows, place mats, etc! This square will take around 200 yards of yarn.
