What Is Being Made

The Trento Hat is a beginner-friendly knitted hat pattern designed by ChristaCoDesign (Crystal Marin). This project creates a simple yet beautifully finished hat available in multiple sizes: Toddler, Child, Teen/Small Adult, and Medium/Large Adult. The pattern emphasizes straightforward construction with an elegant final result, making it an ideal project for knitters new to hat making.

Yarn and Materials

The Trento Hat pattern calls for #4 medium worsted weight yarn or aran weight yarn. Yardage requirements vary by size: Toddler requires 95 yards (87 meters), Child requires 105 yards (96 meters), Teen/Small Adult requires 115 yards (105 meters), and Medium/Large Adult requires 125 yards (114 meters). The pattern was pictured using Lion Brand's Basic Stitch yarn in purple.

Needles required include 4.5mm straight or circular needles with 16-inch cables (or longer 24-inch or larger needles for magic loop method), with needle size adjustable as needed to achieve proper gauge. Additional materials include a yarn needle for weaving in ends, scissors, and a measuring tape.
