What is Being Made

The Tipsy Tiles Square is a 7" x 7" knitted square design created by Terry Liann Morris. The finished square features a distinctive mosaic pattern with columns of tiles that combine garter stitch and simple lace elements, creating visual interest through textural variation.

Craft and Techniques

This is a knitting project classified as intermediate difficulty. The design employs mosaic patterning as its primary technique, which creates the characteristic tiled appearance. The pattern combines two fundamental knitting techniques: garter stitch, which produces a textured, bumpy fabric, and simple lace, which introduces openwork elements. The mosaic technique involves slipping stitches strategically to create the columnar tile effect without requiring complex color work or complicated stitch manipulations.
